Ramzy Darwish, LPC, Him/His

Ramzy hails from The Windy City, where he was born and raised, yet now calls the Rose City home. He completed a Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago, with a focus on mental health treatment. Ramzy began his career in the non-profit arena, working to bring hope and support to adults suffering from severe mental illness. During this time, Ramzy increased his understanding of how mental health issues can influence all areas of one’s life, specializing in the cross section of mental illness, homelessness and addiction.

I have had a great deal of experience working with very different people from very different backgrounds, and I truly enjoy getting to know and work with people of all types. I currently work with adults, and I am very comfortable helping others through their unique symptoms of Trauma, Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder (I & II), as well as other conditions.

However, I also have extensive experience assisting people in simply moving towards their goals, improving their responses to (internal and external) conflict and building self-esteem to move forward in life.

In therapy, I prefer a collaborative, strengths-based approach, and I genuinely thrive on being challenged. I am passionate about helping others overcome the obstacles that they find standing in their way at different stages of life, and enjoy customizing my approach to each client’s strengths and needs. I employ a combination of therapy modalities.

In my own life, like most people, I have had to face and overcome many difficulties. These life lessons have given me a great deal of compassion and empathy for my fellow human beings; I work very hard to maintain a nonjudgmental, welcoming and gentle space for others to work within and hopefully move past the obstacles that hold them back in life.
