Robert C. Sena, PCA, NCC, He/Him
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Psychology from Rutgers University –New Brunswick and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey.
Grounded in a Person-Centered approach, Robert begins every therapeutic relationship by honoring the uniqueness and autonomy of the person he is working with. He integrates his clinical training with a deep respect for the human experience, helping individuals work toward greater self-confidence, psychological flexibility, and clarity.
Throughout the process, Robert integrates Lifespan Integration therapy to maintain a macro perspective, helping clients identify and shift conditioned responses through gentle, structured awareness. When the therapeutic relationship has cultivated sufficient safety and interpersonal readiness, he incorporates Gestalt and Existential therapies to explore meaning, embodiment, and the human condition more deeply. Robert believes that healing and growth occur when we learn to inhabit our bodies more fully, engage authentically with others, and align our lives with the values that give us meaning.
Prior to joining The Path Center, Robert worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including facilitating DBT and CBT groups and supporting individuals recovering from substance use. He has also worked in private practice and provides therapy to individuals aged 15 and older. He will be trained in EMDR in May.

In addition to his clinical work, Robert has studied traditional healing modalities. He trained under Dr. David Winston at The Center for Herbal Studies and with 7Song at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine. He is also a certified yoga instructor and has taught yoga, bodywork, and herbal medicine in community settings. Robert was trained in Jin Shin Jyutsu and Actaline Therapy by the late Laurie Bechler—an energy-based modality drawing from Japanese meridian systems.
In his personal life, Robert enjoys playing music, caring for animals, being in nature, and exploring unexplored trails.
