Robin Behn, QMHP, She/Her

Robin is committed to honoring and centering your identity, culture, orientation, and values throughout the counseling journey. She will work with you to explore your relationships—with your inner self and/or the past; with your partner(s), family, friends, or workmates; with the potentialities, at any age, of work, school, and other meaningful endeavors; and with the universe of grace and possibility, whatever that means to you.

Robin has a holistic perspective on health and recognizes that sleep, nutrition, exercise, and creativity can affect how we feel. She cares most about the counseling relationship she and her clients build together, a place of trust, warmth, acceptance, and hope. She listens deeply to her clients and walks side by side with them to develop goals and gentle plans to reach those goals. Robin embraces evidence- based methods to help each person explore themselves and their story, as well as a toolbox of skills to promote well-being day by day.

Robin’s trauma-informed, eclectic approach draws from Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, narrative therapy, existential theory, and career theories. Robin is a QMHP and mental health counselor in training. She is actively pursuing knowledge in IFS, Lifespan Integration, and EMDR this year.

Robin is a mom and stepmom of grown-up boys and has prior experience in college teaching. In her personal life, she enjoys writing, listening to books, playing flute and penny whistle, anything to do with the arts, cooking with her husband, taking long walks around Portland, and learning the names of the beautiful birds and bridges here.
